Story
AJ Leather Work began as a simple project during a break from work about four years ago. I, Austin, decided to make myself a belt—just to pass the time. What started as a one-off experiment quickly sparked a passion. One piece turned into another, and before long, I was hooked on the craft of leather-working.
In 2024, my journey took an unexpected and life-changing turn. I suffered an aortic dissection and had to undergo emergency surgery. It was a close call that put everything into perspective. While recovering, I found strength and purpose in my craft. Leather-work became more than a hobby—it was a form of healing and a drive to push forward.
Since then, I've dedicated myself to mastering the art of leather-craft, refining my techniques and pushing my creativity further than ever before. That hard work paid off in a big way when I was selected to appear on BBC1’s Make It at Market—a proud moment where I had the chance to showcase my skills and share my story with a wider audience.
